Selena Gomez is taking a hiatus from social media.

The 30-year-old “Kill Em With Kindness” pop star has announced that she is taking a break from social media for now. She hopped online to let her fans know that she will be staying away for a while. Her announcement comes after weeks of reports about her relationship with Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner, as well as body shaming.

Selena went live on TikTok to address how she has been feeling and shed light as to why she is leaving social media for a bit. She said:

“I’m so blessed. I have the best friends, the best fans in the whole world. And I just couldn’t be happier. I’m good. I love who I am, I don’t care. I’m big, I’m not. I don’t care. I love who I am.

I’m gonna be taking a second from social media because this is a little silly. And I’m 30. I’m too old for this.”

Selena’s TikTok is currently inactive. However, it seems her Instagram is still up.

Just before her announcement, fans have been talking about some very noticeable actions of Selena on TikTok. Apparently, Selena has been reacting to TikToks that were throwing shade towards Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner.

She responded to one TikToker who called Kylie and Hailey “mean girls” and urged Kylie to “come out of the closet already” by writing in the comments section:

“I love you.”

She has also been reportedly giving heart reactions to other TikToks shading Kylie and Hailey.

Another thing Selena reacted on was a resurfaced video of Hailey miming gagging when someone mentioned Taylor Swift’s album. Text over the video claimed “THISS is the real Hailey Bieber” and named her as both a “bully” and a “mean girl.” Selena wrote in the comments section:

“So sorry, my best friend is and continue to be one of the best in the game.”
