One of the hottest couples in the music scene is no more. Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have revealed that their relationship is over.

Shawn, 23, and Camila, 24, took to social media on Wednesday (November 17) to officially announce that they have gone their separate ways.

The two both posted the following statement on their respective Instagram Stories:

“Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever. We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends.

We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward.”

Their breakup comes after two years of being together.

Shawn and Camila’s relationship began in the summer of 2019 shortly after the two talented artists dropped their sizzling hot collab, “Señorita.” They were good friends for many years prior to becoming a couple, and even worked on music together. The pair made their first major public appearance as a couple at the MTV Music Awards in August 2019, where they took to the stage for a sultry and steamy performance of their duet.

Since confirming their couple status two years ago, the two have spent a lot of time together and were constantly seen being affectionate whether it be on the red carpet, on stage, or out and about in real life. They even lived together at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic back in early 2020, which Shawn said was a time that truly brought them closer together. He said in August 2020:

“It feels good… Camila and I were so lucky because we were able to just kind go be in a still moment, and it was the first time in the past six years that we’ve been just able to relax and not work at all. It just felt really beautiful.”

In late 2020, Shawn and Camila adopted a dog together named Tarzan.

Just a few short weeks ago, the erstwhile couple had posted their coordinating Halloween costumes while celebrating the occasion together.
