Ansel Elgort is sharing a more personal side of his life than fans are used to seeing.
Months after confirming that he quietly welcomed his first child, the Baby Driver star used Mother’s Day to officially introduce his partner, Miona, to the public for the first time. On Sunday (May 10), Elgort posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram featuring several intimate photos of Miona during her pregnancy, as well as a few candid moments with their baby boy.
“Happy Mother’s Day my Miona,” Ansel wrote in the caption.
The post marked a rare glimpse into the actor’s private life, something Elgort has largely kept out of the spotlight over the last few years. While the actor has remained active professionally, he’s noticeably stepped back from the level of public visibility that once surrounded him during the height of films like The Fault in Our Stars and Baby Driver.
Fans first began speculating about Elgort becoming a father earlier this year after he was photographed in New York City carrying a newborn. Weeks later, the actor confirmed the news himself in an emotional statement shared online.
“Fatherhood is exhilarating, exhausting, it’s everything and more,” he wrote at the time alongside a photo with his son. “The present feels more present and the future brighter. He wakes us up all night and yet I’ve never felt stronger during the day. He goes from crying to laughing, expressing everything he feels and it’s freed me to do the same. I wanted to keep it sacred, just for us, but now I want to share this story with you as it’s the brightest happiest thing I’ve ever experienced. I hope it brings you happiness too.”
The post was notably vulnerable for Elgort, whose public image has long leaned more guarded and understated. His latest Mother’s Day tribute continued that shift, offering followers a softer, more domestic look at the actor’s life behind the scenes.
The photos themselves felt intentionally low-key — less polished celebrity rollout, more personal photo album. Several showed Miona smiling during pregnancy, while others captured the couple adjusting to life with their newborn son.
Professionally, Elgort has spent the past year balancing acting with his longtime interest in dance and performance art. In 2025, he made his professional dance debut in Quadrophenia, A Rock Ballet in New York City, marking a notable pivot into live theatrical work.
The production, inspired by The Who’s iconic rock opera, showcased another side of Elgort’s creative interests outside traditional film acting. It also continued a trend that’s defined much of his career: stepping into projects that feel slightly unexpected.
