New details have emerged following the recent arrest of Adan Banuelos — and they place Bella Hadid unexpectedly close to the unfolding events.
In the early morning hours of Saturday (January 31), the 36-year-old award-winning cowboy and horse trainer was arrested for public intoxication in Weatherford, Texas. While news of the arrest initially drew attention due to Banuelos’ on-and-off relationship with Hadid, additional information has now shed light on what happened in the hours leading up to the incident.
According to arrest records obtained by TMZ, Bella Hadid, 29, was pulled over by deputies during a traffic stop near Gator’s Cantina on the same night. While Hadid herself was not arrested or cited, her presence is noted in the official report, where she is identified as Banuelos’ girlfriend — a detail that arrives amid reports that the couple had recently split.
The report states that Banuelos approached officers while they were conducting the traffic stop involving Hadid. An arresting officer wrote that he “immediately noted that Adan’s speech was slurred and his eyes were bloodshot and glassy.” As Banuelos continued speaking, the officer also detected “an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath.”
Adding to the concern, the report notes that Banuelos’ white truck was left running nearby with a dog inside, which Banuelos claimed belonged to Hadid. When questioned, Banuelos told officers that Hadid had left her phone inside the bar and that he “followed her” because he “cared for her.”
Banuelos later admitted to drinking “four” beers over the course of the day and agreed to undergo a field sobriety test. Following the assessment, the officer determined that Banuelos was intoxicated and placed him in custody to prevent him from “possibly driving a vehicle or posing a danger to himself or others.”
“I released Adan’s property and his vehicle to his girlfriend, who was identified as Isabella Hadid, at his request,” the officer wrote in the report.
Banuelos reportedly denied driving the truck to the bar but refused to provide the name of the individual he claimed was driving. He also told police that “he was at home with a friend when Isabella came home and then left again to go back to the bar.”
“Adan said that he and his friend got into the truck and drove after Isabella,” the report continued, “and when they arrived at the bar, his friend went inside, and Adan walked over to the traffic stop.”
As of now, neither Banuelos nor Hadid have publicly addressed the situation. Hadid has continued to keep a low profile, while the incident has sparked renewed interest in the couple’s complicated on-and-off dynamic.
