What started as a TikTok discussion quickly spiraled into one of social media’s latest celebrity beefs – this time between Chrishell Stause and Katharine McPhee.

The online exchange began after influencer Jordy Cray posted a TikTok video revisiting parts of Katharine McPhee’s dating history. Among the topics discussed were widely publicized photographs from 2013 that showed McPhee kissing her Smash director Michael Morris while both were married to other people at the time. The video also touched on her current marriage to music producer David Foster, who is 35 years older than her.

The video quickly gained traction, but attention shifted even more dramatically once Chrishell Stause entered the conversation.

The former Selling Sunset star left a pointed comment beneath the post, writing:

“One day she will find her real inner confidence but it won’t come until after she is disgarded enough times by the problematic men she backs. An insecure woman will steal your man, and give the worst advice.”

The remark immediately sparked reactions online, with many questioning where the criticism came from and whether there was a larger issue fueling the comments.

Chrishell later expanded on her thoughts on Threads, making it clear that her frustration extended beyond the dating conversation itself.

“But if you are in these streets campaigning for Trump backed Pratt, yeah I’m gonna eye roll your advice on men Katherine.”

The comment referenced Katharine’s recent support of Spencer Pratt, who has been making headlines amid his Los Angeles mayoral campaign efforts. McPhee had recently performed at one of Pratt’s fundraising events and was among several public figures who showed support.

As screenshots of Chrishell’s comments spread online, reactions poured in from both fans and critics, with many trying to piece together how the conversation escalated so quickly.

Katharine soon addressed the growing drama herself.

After E! News shared coverage of the controversy on Instagram, one commenter asked McPhee directly whether she had said something that prompted Chrishell’s response.

Katharine replied:

“Honestly, I have no idea. I am just as confused about this controversy as you lmao.”

Rather than quieting the discussion, the response only brought more attention to the situation.

Chrishell later returned to Threads after Jordy Cray reshared an E! News infographic covering the controversy.

Jordy wrote:

“Not my video causing this drama, oh well. Katharine is a LOSER!”

Chrishell responded by reiterating her position:

“It’s so annoying that the article doesn’t include what I was even responding to. But if you are in these streets campaigning for Trump backed Pratt, yeah I’m gonna eye roll your advice on men Katherine.”

Jordy then added:

“Right. Important context is missing. I just linked my video in the comments. Thanks for always being a real one.”

Chrishell also later criticized E! News, alleging that her comments on Instagram had been hidden from broader conversation around the story.
