Harry Styles closed out his record-breaking Wembley Stadium residency with an emotional tribute that reminded fans just how much his One Direction journey still means to him.

The singer took the stage for the 12th and final London performance of his Together, Together Tour on Saturday, July 4, bringing an unforgettable run of concerts to a close while making history at one of the world’s most iconic venues.

According to Wembley Stadium, Styles’ 12-night residency officially surpassed Coldplay’s previous 10-show run in 2025, establishing the longest concert residency by a single artist at the stadium. The achievement also set a new record for the longest solo-artist run in Wembley’s history.

While the milestone alone was reason enough to celebrate, one of the night’s most memorable moments came when Styles paused to reflect on the people who helped launch his career.

Before performing “Carla’s Song,” Harry spoke about his years in One Direction, offering heartfelt thanks to each of his former bandmates.

“I wouldn’t be on this stage if it wasn’t for four friends of mine that were a massive part of this journey,” he told the crowd in videos shared across social media. “I want to thank Niall, Louis, Zayn and my dear friend Liam. These nights and everything that I’ve learned in this time, the friendships, everything, none of this would be possible. I wouldn’t be here without you.”

The tribute drew an emotional response from fans inside Wembley, many of whom recognized the significance of Harry publicly honoring Liam Payne during such an important night in his solo career.

According to E! News, members of Liam’s family were also in attendance.

Fan-recorded videos circulating online appeared to show Liam’s parents, Geoff Payne and Karen Payne, his sister Ruth Gibbins and nephew Ashton watching the concert from the audience.

Although the family did not address the tribute publicly, their reported presence made Harry’s words even more meaningful.

Liam Payne died on October 16, 2024, at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Harry’s tribute was simple, sincere and focused entirely on gratitude, choosing to celebrate the friendships that shaped one of the biggest pop groups of the 21st century.

The emotional moment wasn’t the only personal highlight of the evening.

Harry also took time to acknowledge many of the people who have supported him throughout his career, both professionally and personally.

“Thank you so much,” he added. “All of the people who’ve helped me along the way, a lot of them are here tonight. My friends, my family, thank you so, so much.”

Later in the show, fans were treated to another touching surprise when Harry’s older sister, Gemma Styles, joined him onstage to congratulate him on completing the historic Wembley residency.

Since launching his solo career, Harry has become one of the world’s biggest touring artists, consistently selling out stadiums across multiple continents while earning critical acclaim for both his music and live performances.

The Together, Together Tour has continued that remarkable momentum, with the Wembley residency standing as one of its defining achievements.

Breaking attendance records at one of the most prestigious venues in the world is an accomplishment few artists ever reach.

Yet for many fans, statistics quickly faded into the background once Harry began speaking about his former bandmates.

More than a decade after One Direction first formed, the bond between its members continues to resonate not only with the millions of fans who grew up alongside them, but with Harry himself.

His words served as a reminder that even after record-breaking tours, Grammy Awards and worldwide success, he hasn’t forgotten where everything began.

By ending one of the biggest runs of his career with gratitude instead of spectacle, Harry delivered a finale that felt deeply personal.

It was a celebration of friendship, family, shared history and the people who helped make every milestone possible, a fitting conclusion to a landmark chapter in his career.
