Jaden Smith is officially stepping into fashion history.

The 27-year-old musician, actor, and style disruptor has been tapped as the first-ever Men’s Creative Director for Christian Louboutin, the storied French label synonymous with its iconic red-soled shoes.

Under the multi-year role, Smith will “oversee the creation of four collections annually across men’s shoes, leather goods, and accessories, while shaping a distinctive visual and emotional universe that extends beyond product design to encompass campaigns, events, and immersive experiences.” His first collection is slated to premiere during Men’s Fall/Winter 2026 Fashion Week in January and arrive in stores May 2026.

Founder Christian Louboutin said the collaboration felt natural from the start. “When I first met Jaden, I saw in him a natural fit for the Maison, his world is rich and multidimensional, his style and cultural sensibility are inspiring and his curiosity and openness are remarkable,” Louboutin shared. “I felt that with his creative direction our men’s collection would evolve in an exciting and dynamic way. He feels like the perfect addition to our creative team and I am truly looking forward to having fun working with him on our men’s collections.”

The two first crossed paths back in 2019, and the synergy was instant. “Merging my vision with Christian’s comes quite naturally because we see the world in a very similar way. There’s a shared respect for creative freedom, and I think that’s why it works,” Smith explained. “I want to continue the story, honoring the past while shaping the future through my own perspective. It isn’t just a title — it’s a creative home. Christian has given me a place to explore, to learn, and to create freely. His legacy is built on hard work and joy, and I want to carry that forward.”

For Smith, the appointment is both an honor and a challenge. “This is the one of the biggest honors of my life, and I feel a lot of pressure to be able to live up to everything that Christian has done for the house, and also stepping into such a serious role,” he told WWD. “When he reached out to me, I was just blown away, because of how similar we are and how much we like to do things in a similar manner. I can’t wait to show the world what we’ve been working on. I think that the universe of Christian Louboutin men’s has so much potential.”

Fashion insiders know Smith is no stranger to the runway circuit. He’s a regular at Louis Vuitton shows, often pops up at Kenzo and Diesel presentations, and is a familiar face at the Met Gala. Now, with his creative imprint about to shape one of the most recognized luxury brands, his next act promises to be as boundary-pushing as his personal style.
