Joe Jonas is opening up about one of the most important roles in his life — being a dad.
The Jonas Brothers star recently shared candid thoughts about co-parenting, single fatherhood, and the profound impact his two daughters have had on his life during a new episode of the band’s podcast, Hey Jonas!. In a heartfelt conversation, Jonas spoke openly about navigating life after his split from actress Sophie Turner and how fatherhood has reshaped his priorities.
Jonas shares daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, with Turner. While both parents have largely kept their children out of the spotlight, the singer occasionally offers rare glimpses into how becoming a father has changed him both personally and professionally.
During the podcast, Jonas reflected on the balance he has found between his career and parenting responsibilities, explaining that his daughters have become a driving force behind everything he does.
“I’m a single dad and I co-parent with my children’s mother,” Joe said. “And so, um, I think my children have given me purpose again in my life. I think having them, the reason I do what I do now, and, you know, you go to work, our work, it happens to be we’re grateful that it’s what we love so much. But also, knowing that I get to work hard if I’m not with them and go back to my shared time where I get to be with them, it makes it so much better to work that much harder.”
The comments offer a rare look into the singer’s life beyond sold-out tours, chart success, and public appearances. For Jonas, the excitement of performing and creating music remains a major passion, but he says fatherhood has given those accomplishments a deeper sense of meaning.
Since becoming a parent, Jonas has often spoken about how his perspective has evolved. The demands of balancing a global music career with family life can be challenging, but he says his daughters have become a source of strength, especially during difficult moments.
“They’ve really given me the reason to be alive,” he continued. “I would say, you know, I think in my saddest moments, I’m able to be reminded quickly that a hug from them can solve the world’s problems in my in my own world, and I know I’m not hyper unique. There’s a lot of people in my situation that are single parents and go through this.”
The singer’s remarks struck a particularly relatable chord, acknowledging that countless parents face similar challenges while juggling careers, family responsibilities, and personal struggles. While Jonas may live a life that looks very different from most people’s on the surface, his reflections centered on experiences that many parents understand intimately.
Jonas also praised the support system that has helped him navigate co-parenting, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a healthy partnership with Turner for the sake of their children.
“I’m grateful that I have a co-parent that I can balance even the bad days, but I think being able to have good people around me to kind of help me navigate it is really special,” Joe shared. “I think they’ve taught me that I’ll be okay even in my toughest days.”
The comments come nearly three years after Jonas and Turner publicly ended their marriage. Following a highly publicized period surrounding their separation, both stars have largely shifted their focus toward co-parenting and maintaining stability for their daughters.
In recent months, Jonas has appeared increasingly reflective in interviews, often discussing personal growth, family, and the lessons he has learned over the past few years. While fans have followed his professional journey since his teenage years, his latest comments reveal a side of the singer that remains deeply grounded in family life.
Just last month, Jonas shared that one of the things he was looking forward to most this summer was spending time with Willa and Delphine after an extended period away for work commitments.
