JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes just made things official — red carpet official.
The Dance Moms alum, 22, and Love Island star, 32, made their red carpet debut at the Dancers Against Cancer Gala of the Stars on Tuesday night (October 21) in Beverly Hills. The couple, who met earlier this year on Celebrity Big Brother UK, couldn’t stop smiling as they posed together at the event.
The two confirmed their relationship back in June after forming a close bond in the Big Brother house. But their time on the show wasn’t all glamour — it was also deeply personal.
In one emotional Diary Room conversation, JoJo opened up about her evolving understanding of her identity. “It’s something that I’m not ready, necessarily, to be open about or upfront about, but it has to do with gender and how do I feel,” she said, tearing up. “Let’s put it this way… Oh my god, this is a lot…”
She continued, “Essentially, you have female, you have male… Met a lot of people in my life that are nonbinary, and these beautiful nonbinary people are who I feel the most like.”
“It’s important to be honest, and I think it’s important to also show that it’s OK to not know,” she added later.
After the show, JoJo clarified she identifies as queer — not lesbian — saying, “I feel, like, so queer, do you know what I mean? I think that’s the thing, I’ve always told myself I’m a lesbian, and I think being here I’ve realized: ‘Oh, I’m not a lesbian, I’m queer,’ and I think that’s really cool.”
With a grin, she added, “I’m switching letters! F–k the L, I’m going to the Q! That’s what I love about sexuality.”
Now, with Chris by her side and her confidence shining, JoJo seems more grounded than ever — proving that authenticity never goes out of style.
