Joshua Jackson & Katie Holmes Walk The Red Carpet Together

Some reunions don’t need buildup. They just happen—and instantly remind everyone why they mattered in the first place.

That was the case when Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes stepped out together in New York City on April 14, attending a screening of Brunello: The Gracious Visionary at Lincoln Center’s David Koch Theater. For longtime fans, the moment felt less like a red carpet appearance and more like a quiet continuation of something that’s never really gone away.

Best known for their roles as Pacey Witter and Joey Potter on Dawson’s Creek, Jackson and Holmes walked the carpet arm-in-arm, smiling easily and moving with the kind of familiarity that only comes from history. Nearly three decades after the show first aired, their connection still reads as effortless.

The styling, of course, reflected how much time has passed—but also how naturally both have evolved.

Holmes opted for a polished, slightly undone look: a sparkly skirt paired with a crisp white button-down worn just off the shoulder, revealing a black tank underneath. She kept accessories minimal, finishing the look with a black clutch and softly styled waves.

Jackson, meanwhile, leaned into a more playful take on formalwear, pairing a bold red jacket with blue slacks, a white shirt, and a coordinating blue bowtie. It was sharp, but not overly serious—very much in line with his current red carpet style.

But it wasn’t the outfits that made the moment resonate. It was the ease.

Holmes—who shares daughter Suri, 19, with ex Tom Cruise—and Jackson appeared genuinely happy to be there together, their long-standing friendship on full display. There was no sense of performance to it. Just two people who have known each other for a long time, reconnecting in a way that feels natural.

And for fans, this isn’t the last time they’ll see that dynamic play out onscreen.

Jackson is set to star alongside Holmes in her upcoming film Happy Hours, a project she also wrote. The film is intended as a multi-part story, exploring different stages of a relationship over time.

“Katie wrote this beautiful story for the two of us that is the three phases of a love story,” Jackson explained during an appearance on Today last month. “We shot the fun part, which is the falling in love, and she’s cutting it together now. And that will come out and hopefully it will give us the opportunity to go back and make the other two.”

For Jackson, the experience of working with Holmes again carried a sense of familiarity—and something more.

“We spent so much intense time at a particular moment in our lives,” Joshua shared, “and then we have maintained our friendship for all of these years, but we’ve never had a chance to be on camera together, and it was magic.”

As he put it, “It was so nice to go back to that place.”
