We’ve all been there – the messy end of a relationship where one party just doesn’t know when to quit while the other really needs space. If you’re having a hard time looking for the words to express how you feel, why not sing it from the heart?
Up-and-coming singer-songwriter Sage did just that with her latest single, “Not Interested” (produced by Zeph Park) – and she hits all the right notes when it comes to bringing on the feels.
“I was reflecting on a relationship that I had ended a few months prior. The inspiration for the lyrics came from knowing we weren’t meant to be, but feeling like it was hard to leave what we had behind,” Sage shares. “The song helped me know it was time to do my own thing.”
What’s so great about the song is that it doesn’t just apply to a romantic relationship. “I also liked that the song could apply to a lot of different situations,” Sage says. “People could relate by not being interested in a friendship, relationship, or anything about not being in a particular situation anymore.”

This Canada native has been singing since before she could speak. By the time she was five, her perfect pitch and unique tone were undeniable.
She grew up in the spotlight as one of Canada’s Mini Pop Kids, she’s been in the music biz since 13. She’s also become a familiar face on TikTok and YouTube, with her viral cover of Beyoncé’s “Halo.”
But the road to her dreams hasn’t been easy – Sage lost her father unexpectedly at the young age of three and has a younger brother with non-verbal autism. Singing became a way for her to connect with her feelings and emote to music early on.
“I started making photo booth videos and recording myself on my mom’s computer at the age of five,” Sage recalls. “That is when I found my love for singing and performing.”
“What made me fall in love with music was the feeling I got when I sang,” she shares, adding, “I feel most empowered when I’m singing.”
In March 2019, Sage released her first original song “I Don’t Care” in collaboration with Canadian producer Trust Chen Pow. Now 17, she’s well on her way to reaching her musical dreams. Studying in an all-arts high school, Sage continues to perfect her performance and craft, doing what she loves and what she was made to do.
